65th Annual Fireman's Chicken BBQ This Weekend

The Village of Westfield Fire Department is again hosting their annual chicken barbeque.  The 65th annual BBQ will be held on the Saturday before Labor Day, September 3rd, at Westfield Pioneer Park.  The village firemen and spouses have traditionally put out an exceptional chicken dinner and provide a full day of fun for the public.

The tasty meal consists of a 1/2 chicken, barbecued over charcoal, just the way you like it, a dinner roll, baked potato and/or potato salad, a lettuce salad, baked beans, and coffee or milk.  Carryout meals are always available.  Serving will begin at 3:00 pm.

At 9:00 am a men’s softball tournament will begin. Come out and support your favorite team!  Also, for the little ones, the splashpad is open all day for your enjoyment. Starting at noon, try your skills in the corn hole tournament. Registration is at 11:00 a.m. Contact Fay Lloyd with questions at 608-333-4583.

As always, there will be refreshments available.  Beer and soda will be served all day, with hot dogs and burgers available for the early attendees to snack on prior to the chicken dinner being served.

There will be live country music provided by “Starfire” band from 4:00-9:00 p.m.

A raffle is also being held. Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20 and will enter you in a drawing for cash prizes.

The Westfield Fire Department uses the profits from this BBQ to update equipment on the department and in past years has put improvements into Pioneer Park.

Come out and enjoy the day and take in the beauty of our Westfield Pioneer Park. The Public Works Department works very hard to provide a beautiful park for the firemen to host their annual Chicken BBQ. Your continued support of this very worthwhile cause is always appreciated!

There will be plenty of undercover seating available, so come out for the best barbequed chicken around and enjoy the 65th annual Westfield Fireman's Chicken BBQ. Follow the Village of Westfield Fire Department on Facebook for more updates.
