9/11 Remembrance Ceremony set for Westfield

The Pioneer Thunder Youth Flag Football & Cheerleading organization in Westfield has organized a 9/11 Remembrance ceremony in honor of the 20th anniversary of the tragedies that occurred on the East Coast of the U.S. in 2001.

The ceremony takes place prior to the Pioneer Thunder games scheduled for this Saturday, September 11th, at the old high school football field at the corner of 3rd and Charles Streets in Westfield, beginning at 9:15 a.m.

It will include: Presentation of Colors by the American Legion Color Guard, Fire Responders and their vehicles will be present, Robyn McCartney will sing the National Anthem, and a tentative F-16 Flyover by the 115th Fighter Wing will highlight the event at 9:45 a.m.

Football games featuring the Pioneer Thunder teams will follow and everyone is encouraged to stay and cheer them on!
