Brakebush wins 2022 Wisconsin Family Business of the Year award in “Large” category

Judges choose Brakebush due to generosity during the pandemic and family members playing pivotal roles in the company.

Westfield, WI — Brakebush Brothers, Inc. announced today that it won the 2022 Wisconsin Family Business of the Year award in the “Large” category. The award program started in 2004, and this is Brakebush’s second time winning this category.

At the awards gala on September 22nd, judges highlighted Brakebush’s generosity throughout the pandemic in selecting them for this award. Brakebush donated $15,000 in financial relief to restaurants and 280,000 pounds of chicken to those in need. They also quickly adapted safety policies to keep employees and customers safe and healthy. Even with recent challenges, Brakebush sold more chicken in the past 5 years than in the previous 92 years combined. None of that would have been possible without employees across every department doing their part to overcome new obstacles during the pandemic.

The judges also acknowledged the way the Brakebush family members are involved in key areas of the business. In the award announcement speech, judges said, “The son of the founder currently serves as Chairperson of the Board, six of the third-generation family members serve on the Steering Committee and in Vice President positions, and seven fourth generation family members are coming up the ranks that contribute across various departments.”

They accredited the company’s longevity to their investment in treating anyone associated with Brakebush with respect, honesty, and integrity. Brakebush has built strong relationships through social responsibility and their intent to continuously improve how they can serve customers and employees. They have been providing high-quality chicken products for nearly 100 years, and they back their products with excellent service from the Brakebush family and team members.
