Flu Vaccine Clinics for Marquette County

As many children are returning to in-person learning and adults end a period of working from home, there is likely to be an increased circulation of COVID and influenza, as well as other respiratory viruses as we head into fall and winter. Flu season usually runs from October to May, with the best time to get a flu vaccination being September through October.

Influenza is a respiratory infection that can cause serious complications, particularly to young children, older adults, and people with certain medical conditions. Flu shots are the most effective way to prevent influenza and its complications. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older be vaccinated annually against influenza.

The Marquette County Health Department will be hosting flu vaccination clinics.  The first clinic will be on September 20th from 1pm to 3:30pm. This will be a drive-thru clinic located at the Marquette County Highway Department, 328 Underwood Ave, Montello.  Due to limited quantity, APPOINMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED! Please visit, www.co.marquette.wi.us and click on 2021 Marquette County Flu Vaccine Clinics, to register.  Online registration is highly encouraged, but if you or someone you know do not have access to the internet, please call the Health Department at 608-297-3135 to set up your appointment.  If you do not get into this clinic, please know the Health Department will be scheduling more and we will get that information out as soon as we can.

To keep the drive thru clinic moving, the Health Department highly encourages everyone to fill out paperwork the day of the clinic and bring with you. Consent forms, and HIPAA agreements will be available prior to the day, at any Marquette County Library or on the front door of the Health and Human Services building (428 Underwood Ave, Montello). You will still need to bring your Medicare or Medical Assistance cards and supplement for review

The Health Department accepts Medicare Part B, Medicare HMO, or Medical Assistance, otherwise it is $40.00 for the standard dose quadrivalent vaccine or $68.00 for the quadrivalent high dose (only for those 65+).  We do not accept private insurance
