Immanuel’s Annual Fish Boil is August 5th

Immanuel Lutheran Church of Westfield presents its 28th annual Fish Boil on Friday, August 5. Serving will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the church located at 210 S. Charles St. The cost is $10 per person. Tickets are available by calling 608-296-2088 and will also be available at the door. 

The menu includes fish, potatoes, onions, cole slaw, beans, bread, beverage and dessert. 

Proceeds from the dinner go to the Orphan Grain Train, Wisconsin Division, to help people in need. The Orphan Grain Train tells the love of Jesus Christ, and is a relief effort for storms and disasters, providing food, clothing, blankets and other items needed in the United States and foreign countries. It is a national network of volunteers of all ages who gather large quantities of medical supplies, clothing, food, tools, and other necessities of life. 

They sort, pack, load and deliver to needy persons, working in partnership with the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and the International Lutheran Laymen’s League. The Wisconsin Division has shipped items in United States disaster areas, as well as Africa, Bulgaria, Central America, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Russia, Tajikistan, Texas/Mexico Missions, and Native American Reservations. 

Donations of items are welcome and can include like-new clothing, medicine chest items, toiletries, blankets, bed linens, towels, infant clothing, cloth diapers, toys and more. Monetary donations are also appreciated. Checks payable to Orphan Grain Train –Wisconsin Division, can be mailed to Ida Frizzell, Treasurer, 10067 County Rd. D, Amherst, WI 54406. 

Matching funds have also been pledged through the Marquette County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
