Judge Hendee receives WATCP Hero Award

The Honorable Marquette County Circuit Judge Chad Hendee was given the Hero Award this year at the Wisconsin Association of Treatment Court Professionals’ yearly conference. WATCP uses this award to honor outstanding professionals in the treatment court field. It was very obvious that Judge Hendee is passionate about the Treatment Court program!

The Marquette County Treatment Court staff submitted his nomination, a portion of which stated: “Judge Hendee first became involved with the Marquette County Treatment Court in October of 2011 when he was appointed as the Marquette County District Attorney. Since that time, he has been a champion of the Treatment Court. Judge Hendee’s leadership was instrumental during times of staffing or funding challenges and made sure that any choices made would best serve our County’s residents. He makes extra efforts to keep county stakeholders informed and engaged so they can see program outcomes, both positive and negative. Judge Hendee always empowers our team and will consider all opinions in his decision-making process. He can often be heard reminding the participants that this is an honest program and also points out that Treatment Court can be the best part of his job. It is evident when a participant sees that a Judge truly cares about them as people. Our entire team would like to thank Judge Hendee for his commitment, compassion, and energy that he puts into the Marquette County Treatment Court.”
