Marquette County HCE 2022

We are only three clubs, but we are busy and productive. We had a good group go to State Conference.  As a County Group we held our 2nd Open House to celebrate HCE Week with the three clubs being represented. A raffle on a basket with 2 HCE mugs, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, with towels and dish clothes was won by a non but maybe future HCE member. Our County hosted the Central District Meeting at Pine Lake, Westfield in April where we had a speaker on pollinators.

We will miss our Administrative Assistant, Jackie. She is retiring as of December 2022. We wish her well in whatever she chooses to do, maybe a new HCE member.

At the Frink club Bake Sale in December, a raffle was done on a donated Holiday Quilt which with the basket raffle, HCE made $230 which was donated to The Giving Tree in Montello.  Frink Club also made fiddle knit muffs for the people at the Care Center.  They are also in the process of making door hangers for the Center that can be changed for each season.

Moundville Busy Bees sponsors a Rabies Clinic at a reasonable cost in Spring. They assist the Endeavor Lions at their weekly Bingo games which is a good fundraiser enabling the donation to the Care & Share Food Bank, The County Sheriff’s Department K-9 program, and Budda Box, a local program assisting cancer patients and their families. Before the holidays, they made gift boxes for elderly people who are homebound.

Springfield Club hosted the Spring Frolic where we celebrated 82 years of Marquette County HCE with a Spud-tacular Event.  Where potatoes were eaten, and everyone received recipes for potatoes dishes and learned many potato facts.  This club donates to the local Fire Department and the Springfield Town Hall where they meet.

Home, Community and Education ( HCE) clubs work for your community and enjoys friendship and learning new things to share with you.   Think about joining our group and meet some kind people who care.   Happy New Year!!!!
