School production of “Sister Act” takes the stage March 2-5 at Montello High School

Tickets are now on sale through the website showtix4u.com for Montello High School’s production of the musical “Sister Act.”

Sister Act is the feel-good musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film that has audiences jumping to their feet! Featuring original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Elizabeth Urbaniak brings the unique Deloris Van Cartier to life in this production, while Mother Superior is played by Lily Pierce. You’ll also enjoy Izzy Plog as Sister Mary Robert, Natalee Dolgner as Sister Mary Patrick, Caelyn Fritz as Sister Mary Lazerus, Joshua Schwochert as Eddie, Elias Linebaugh as Curtis, Spencer Whaley as Joey, Thomas Olson as TJ, and many more talented MHS actors, singers, dancers, and crew members!

The play is directed by Mary Ott, along with Assistant Director Erin Logan.

Performances are scheduled in the high school Community Room for Thursday through Saturday, March 2-4, at 7:00 p.m. nightly, plus a matinee performance on Sunday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors, students and staff. Visit: https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/71444 or email mott@montelloschools.org for ticket information.
