Montello Lions donate to Sheriff’s K-9

The Montello Lions Club presented a $1,000 check to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office for their K-9 program.  Lion President Sharon Foley said that the money was raised at the annual fisheree.  Sheriff Konrath said that they are thankful for all donations made to the Sheriff’s office.  Plans are being made to purchase another K-9 to replace soon to be retiring K-9 Axel.  The K-9 program is also supported by Marquette County Crime Stoppers which is holding their 9th annual Golf Scramble, BBQ and Raffle on Saturday, September 24th at Sondalle’s White Lake Country Club.  The money raised will go to pay for training, travel, and equipment for the K-9s, and the purchase of a new K-9. Call Sheriff Joseph Konrath at 297-2115 if you’d like to donate to the K-9 program.  Ask for Captain Michael Kowalski or Stephanie Warren at the same number if you want more information about the golf outing.  Standing with Lion President Sharon Foley are Chief Deputy Scott Johnston, Sheriff Joe Konrath, Captain Les Crandall, and kneeling, Patrol Sergeant Brian Noll with Blackjack.
