Montello Rotary Club hosts Fall Fest & Granite City Run

The popular Granite City Run event returns to Montello on Saturday, October 1st, for its 9th year, along with Fall Fest, courtesy of the Montello Rotary Club.

The Granite City Run is the opening event of the day, with packet pick-ups beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Montello City Park on Doty Street.

Featured races include a 10K run, 5K run/walk, Kid’s 1-mile, and Kid’s 1/4-mile runs. The Granite City Run is a family-friendly event that has something for everyone.  There are 10K and 5K runs that are professionally chip timed with awards for the top finishers in each age division.  There is also an untimed 5K walk for all ages.

Kid’s events start at 8:30 a.m., the 10K starts at 8:55 a.m., and the 5K run/walk begins at 9:00 a.m.

Register Today!  The price for the 1-mile Kid’s Run is $10 a child.  The 5K run or walk is $25 a person and the 10K is $30 a person. You can access the signup button at www.runsignup.com and search for Granite City Run, or signups will be available the day of the event. (5K and 10K Run prices increase by $5 after September 29th. Shirts are not guaranteed after September 30th at 7:00 p.m.)

Proceeds will go to help provide for local scholarships on behalf of the Montello Rotary, along with supporting the Montello City Fireworks, Care and Share Marquette County Food Bank and other local charities.

Fall Fest will be in full swing with vendors at the park during the day. The race awards ceremony takes place following the conclusion of the final races and there will be concessions, music and some kid’s activities to enjoy.
