The Marquette County Fair returns in 2023 with all kinds of fun and entertainment for the whole family, running July 6-9. The fair takes place on the county fairgrounds in Westfield. This year’s theme is “Barn in the U.S.A.!” Here are some of the highlights, in addition to all the judged exhibits and animals:
Entertainment at the Marquette County Fair
Thursday night, as the fair and midway get underway, there’s a free Nick’s Kids Show in the Exhibit Building at 6:00 p.m. Check out the new Axe Throwing attraction, available each day of the fair.
Friday, bring the kids for Nick’s Kids Show at 1:00, 4:00, and 6:00 pm. in the Exhibit Building. Check out the rides on the midway. The fair will host free live music with the popular band Southbound from 5:00-8:00 pm. The annual Youth Meat Animal Auction gets underway at 6:30 pm. in the Show Barn.
On Saturday, the midway will again be open for your enjoyment. Nick’s Kids Show returns at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00. Round out the day by enjoying DJ Express at the Beer Pavilion from 7-11 pm.
On Sunday, there’s a kid’s pedal pull at 10:30 am. in the Highway Building and the Parade of Champions Award Ceremony at 12:30. The Band Polkarioty will entertain you at the Beer Pavilion from 1-4 pm. The midway will be open during the day also.
Special Events at the Marquette County Fair
On Friday night, the fair hosts the popular Bull Bonanza Bull Riding Blowout! The event starts at 8:00 pm Friday Night with admission price of $17 per person, and free to kids 5 and under. Gates open at 6:00.
NEW on Saturday afternoon is a Cornhole tournament, run by Chick’s Cornhole. There is a $40 entry fee per team with 100% payback. Sign up at noon – bags fly at 1 pm!
Another NEW event this year is a Wing Eating Competition, presented by Brakebush Brothers Inc. at 3 pm on Saturday. Only 20 spots will be available, with pre-registration available on the fair website. You must be at least 18 years of age to take part.
Saturday night, you know you’re in the right place when you see black smoke and tractors hopping! The Tractor Pull begins at 6:30 pm on Saturday night, with an admission price of $12 person; free to kids 5 & under.
Sunday features a new event: Horse Pulling! Fun for all ages is offered at this event, beginning at 11 am. There is a gate fee of $5 per person; kids 5 & under are free.
Blue Ribbon Pie Contest
Are your pie making skills Blue Ribbon worthy? If so, bring your delicious pie down to the Marquette County Fair on Saturday July 8th. Registration begins at 11:30am and judging begins at noon. This year’s pie categories are fruit, main dish, specialty, and double crust. This year, there will be two rounds of judging. The first round will sample all the pies, and three judges will recommend one pie from each category to move into the Grand Championship Round. The second set of judges will select the Grand Prize Winner.

General admission to the County Fair is free; a small parking donation is requested to support local youth groups.
