Westfield will be full of activities & celebrations June 10-11!

June 10-11 is the weekend to celebrate everything “dairy” in Marquette County – and more!

Dairylicious Day 2023 returns to Westfield on Saturday, June 10th, for a day of fun including a parade, live music by Road Trip, and lots more! 

The Westfield Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors this event, will be selling food and drinks in the evening, featuring a variety of delicious sandwiches, along with your favorite beverages. Watch for the raffle, plus games for all ages, including a dunk tank!

Most activities will take place at Pioneer Memorial Park, except for the parade, which will run through downtown Westfield. The parade will be downtown starting at 5:30 p.m. (Line-up starting at 5:00 p.m. by the old high school) Contact Val Virch at Virch’s True Value (608-296-2444) if you’d like to enter. This year’s theme for the parade is ‘Down on the Farm’!

There will be a Kiddie Tractor Pull at 6:45 pm (weigh-ins start at 6:00), along with a bounce house, dunk tank, and Barnyard Games for the kids at the Pioneer Park starting at 6:00 p.m.

The popular band Road Trip will be performing at Pioneer Park from 7:00-10:30 p.m.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, you can enter the 17th annual Dairylicious Day Run/Walk, sponsored by the Westfield Cross Country Team, which takes place at Pioneer Memorial Park, 316 E. Pioneer Park Rd. Registration begins at 8 a.m. There will be a 5-mile run, 2-mile run, 2-mile fun walk and a kid’s 1/4-mile run. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each division plus trophies for the fastest male and female in the running events.

There’s also water, sports drinks and dairy treats after the race for all participants! Treats and prizes will be awarded to all youth who participate.

Walkers and kids are free but may purchase a t-shirt for $15.

From 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, the Marquette County Historical Society is hosting its 42nd annual Strawberry Sociable at their museum located at 125 Lawrence Street, on the banks of the millpond. Enjoy delicious homemade shortcake with ice cream and strawberries. The cost is $4 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Museum buildings and grounds will be open for tours at no cost. Come and enjoy an old-fashioned relaxing afternoon with MCHS! Also check out the plant sale on the grounds, sponsored by the Marquette County Master Gardeners, along with a wonderful quilt display featuring feed sack material at the museum!

Topping off the weekend will be a June Dairy Month Breakfast on Sunday, June 11th, sponsored by the Marquette County Farm Bureau. Breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausage and more delicious treats will be served from 7am until 12 noon at the Marquette County Fairgrounds, 757 Main St., Westfield. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for ages 4-8, and free to kids 3 & under. There will also be fun activities for the entire family, including a petting zoo, games, music, bingo, 50/50 raffle, a tractor display, and much more. If you need more information, call 608-369-2644.
