Marquette County Sheriff’s Office makes 2 arrests in armed home invasion

Jayce Ellsworth-Messa and Dominick Ziolek, both age 17 of Montello, were arrested after the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Town of Shields, for a report of a home invasion on Tuesday evening, January 3rd.

Area fire departments battle house fire in Moundville

On January 3rd, 2023, at approximately 8:09 p.m., the Endeavor/Moundville Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire on County Road CX near Glen Ave. in the Town of Moundville. First arriving responders encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from a two-story farmhouse.

Damage to squad car reminds motorists to drive safely

While assisting a motorist on Friday night, December 16th, a Marquette County Sheriff’s Office squad car was struck on I39 by a passing vehicle. The deputy was inside the squad car with emergency lights activated when the crash occurred. The deputy suffered minor injuries from the impact.

Bowls for Hunger “Restaurant Week” a success

After a week of different area eating places hosting  benefits for the area food pantries, the Bowls for Hunger Restaurant Week  has been deemed a success.

The combined effort of five restaurants and one grocery have netted $4,000.  That, combined with generous donations and the big bowl raffle this year, has raised over $7,000.

Snowfall creates problems around Marquette County

On the morning of December 15th, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office reported numerous trees, powerlines down, and slide-offs on roads around the county following a full day of rain on Wednesday and 4 or more inches of snow overnight. The snow was heavy, and plows worked as quickly as they could to get the roads cleared.

Donations are presented at fundraiser for Packwaukee Veteran’s Memorial
