Montello will celebrate Independence Day in grand style with a giant fireworks display at dusk on Monday, July 3rd. The fun event takes place at Montello City Park on Doty Street.
The Marquette County Fair returns in 2023 with all kinds of fun and entertainment for the whole family, running July 6-9. The fair takes place on the county fairgrounds in Westfield. This year’s theme is “Barn in the U.S.A.!” Here are some of the highlights, in addition to all the judged exhibits and animals:
Chicken Chew this year will be a tribute to a small village that produces a great festival. The 51st Anniversary of Chicken Chew will be June 23, 24, and 25 with lots of activities for everyone in the family. There will be tons of activities all three days of the event.
Dedication of the new Marquette Park on the Mont L’eau River has been postponed. Scheduled for Saturday, June 24, the dedication will take place later this summer.
Coming up Saturday, June 10th to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the voyage of Father Marquette and Louis Jolliet is an event featuring Marquette and Jolliet re-enactors, as well as Iron Bear Singers and Dancers. It will be held at Rendezvous Paddle and Sports in Montello.
The Class of 2023 at High Marq Environmental Charter School in Montello will take part in graduation exercises on Saturday, June 3rd, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place next to the Forest Lane Elementary School Garden (rain location: MHS Varsity Gym).
